Development Version 3.96h (March - 2026)

Changes

• Added into OziExplorer the ability to convert other Map Image Formats to TIF format.
  • This is similar to our Image File Conversion utility but is now built into OziExplorer.
  • The Image File Conversion stand alone program is also now installed with OziExplorer into a sub-folder of the OziExplorer folder and a shortcut added to the Start Menu in Windows.
     
• The Option to Convert Map Images is on the File Menu of OziExplorer.
  • Convert GeoPDF format to GeoTif
  • Convert Normal PDF format to TIF
  • Convert Unsupported TIF formats to a supported TIF format
  • Also convert jpg, bmp, png, gif, ecw, jp2, sid, rik to TIF
  • If the image contains georeference information a GeoTif is created.
     
• Added support for the new NOAA ENC custom Navigation Charts. These charts are downloaded as PDF (geoPDF) documents and must be converted to GeoTif using the Convert Map Image option mentioned above. The charts can then be imported by OziExplorer using the File Menu / Import Maps / All Georeferenced Map Images in a Folder menu option.
   
• Added ability to read Tiled TIF map images - note that tiled TIF images must be fully loaded into memory (OziExplorer cannot page them) so very large tiled TIF images cannot be loaded.
  • Large Tiled TIF images can be converted using the Image Conversion option (mentioned above) for use in OziExplorer.
     
• Added the ability to also load gpx files from the Load Track from File (multi) menu option. Both .plt and .gpx files will be shown and many can be loaded at the same time.
  • This is a load track menu option so only tracks will be loaded from the gpx file (not waypoints).
     
• Added the ability to load <LinearRing> objects (closed tracks) objects from a KML file.
